Dovetail provides the framework necessary to enhance consumer or business datamaking it even more powerful. To ensure our clients get the most from their marketing database, we have developed strategic partnerships that provide the following services.

National Change of Address (NCOA)
This process identifies movers using a file that contains approximately 160 million change-of-addresses. This enables mailers to update mailing lists with new addresses from individuals, families, and businesses that have moved in the past 48 months.

Enhanced Change of Address
This process goes above and beyond traditional NCOA and utilizes multiple, private sources of address change data that are not included as part of standard NCOA. Depending on the data, this process can appreciably improve the quantity of identified movers.

Second Generation Delivery Sequence File (DSF2)
DSF2 improves the delivery of mailings by validating addresses utilizing the United States Postal Service database which allows validation of all 145+ million delivery points. DSF2 processing is based on a United States Postal Service approved matching process and enables mailers to improve response rates and lower costs. DSF2 identifies and/or assigns address attributes such as ZIP+4, carrier route number, carrier delivery sequence number, delivery type code (business or residence), seasonal code indicator, vacant code indicator, and building/firm name.

Email Change of Address (ECOA)
This process identifies email addresses that have changed, using multiple sources of hundreds of millions of email addresses and their modified email address. All updated emails are 100% opted-in, permission-messaged, and provide marketers a mechanism to keep up with frequently changing email addresses.

Additional Suppressions
These are additional suppressions that marketers may want to incorporate into their data management practices. Examples include items such as military, prison, federal buildings, disaster-stricken areas, and deceased persons. By suppressing these types of addresses, wasteful mail cost is reduced.

Merge/Purge
Dovetail typically performs merge/purge on the data in each client’s marketing database that we manage. However, some clients may have external files, typically prospect files, that are not included in the marketing database. In these instances, Dovetail can identify duplicates between the marketing database and these other files and suppress current customers from prospect mailings.

Append and Reverse Append of Contact Information
These processes enable marketers to obtain more data on an individual if they already have partial data on that individual. For instance, phone number can be appended to name, address, city, state, and zip. Alternatively, if only a phone number exists, name and address data can be appended to the record. In some instances, these processes can be applied using email address as well.

Data Enhancements
Append lifestyle, demographic, or clustering data to create a three-dimensional portrait of the individuals in your marketing database. Items such as gender, income, marital status, and age are basic examples that enable marketers to better segment their data and target their best prospects for marketing campaigns.
